Hey beer friends, how’s the cold weather treating you? It’s time for another monthly review of our subscribers’ top picks. The May box had some great options to choose from, and our subscribers have cast their votes, so without further ado let’s jump right into it.
In 3rd place we’ve got Baylands’ Petone, a nice well-balanced Pale Ale. Uncomplicated, citrusy and with a little bit of bitterness just to keep things interesting.
The 2nd place goes to 8 Wired’s Hefeweizen – Brave Old World, a Kiwi take on a popular European style that we sadly don’t see too often here in New Zealand. 8 Wired has also made it to the top 3 for the second month in a row, which is quite a feat!
And the top prize of the night goes to Laughing Bones’ Jokers Wild – a moreish, perfectly crafted American IPA. The folks at Laughing Bones have definitely spent quite a bit of time tuning this recipe and it really shows. This tastes like the first craft beer that makes you fall in love with the hobby.
We’ve still got a handful of May boxes up for grabs, so if you’d like to try these beers, hurry before they’re all gone!
