We love the European tradition of seasonal beers for holidays, special occasions, or festivals. At Badass Beverages we’re always keen for “eine kleine – knees-up”, so heading into the festive season and Kiwi summer we’ve brewed our take on a German festbier. Pouring a splendid pale amber, we’ve invited a few more noble hops to this flavoursome lager party, and like a good summer landscape photo, it’s unfiltered.
THE TASTE OF FESTBIER – (Notes from our head of taste – Alex Biedermann)
Festbier is a lager with character, and five specialty malts give it a full body, a wonderful golden amber colour, and an enticing complexity. The use of three German hops – Smaragd, Perle, and Hersbrucker – provides a classic noble hop aroma and flavour, floral and slightly spicy.
Pouring with a firm and frothy head, Festbier is brewed for complete summer holiday bliss.
